The laundry tub was non-standard addition.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14886793681429865545noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6471190583478818324.post-51313250427419679762014-02-21T09:38:12.448-08:002014-02-21T09:38:12.448-08:00Sometimes I wish I had pushed HARDER to get the th...Sometimes I wish I had pushed HARDER to get the things we wanted. One of the things we were most disappointed about was that if we wanted the maple espresso cabinet finish (which we did) we had to get it in the Scottsdale collection. I REALLY wanted to upgrade to the Wyoming (or anything in the "Portfolio Select") to take advantage of the solid hardwood and dovetail drawers. Our request was repeatedly denied.

Shortly after we broke ground, I visited the model to find that they were offering new cabinet options in both the color and collection that we wanted. We were told we were "beyond our 30-day window" and despite the fact I had showed another blogger who had had this waived at the exact same time for the exact same reason, there was nothing they would do for us.

I love our kitchen... but every once in a while I think about how much nicer it would have been to have actually received the upgrade we paid for.

And that is my rant for the day...Brandonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16653489208963491450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6471190583478818324.post-65582399616747964762014-02-21T07:05:42.350-08:002014-02-21T07:05:42.350-08:00I don't know if this will help you or not but ...I don't know if this will help you or not but I tried to get one in the garage and was told no.

I'm still stunned by the things "Ryan Homes doesn't do" which other people did easy peasy with Ryan Homes. It really comes down to what your sales team knows and what your PM knows. I had to show a few blogs to push through some things which were very important to me. During the build, I almost came in and ran water/drain lines from the half bath (shares a wall). Then I realized I can do it down the road easy enough by tapping in the lines in the basement.
So, if you really want one....may still be possible.

As for projects, I have already sketched up and bought wood for a closet organizer....just as soon as I finish staining and installing the living room shelves.Sgt.Richhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06908060926056178459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6471190583478818324.post-54345478868862844062014-01-25T08:46:20.108-08:002014-01-25T08:46:20.108-08:00After living in our house for a year I wish we cou...After living in our house for a year I wish we could do it over again! It probably depends where you're located/weather as to whether or not that is actually required. To be safe, we turned off the hose bib but we did leave the sink on.Brandonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16653489208963491450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6471190583478818324.post-30355205443743926812014-01-24T05:52:01.822-08:002014-01-24T05:52:01.822-08:00Thanks Brandon. When spring comes about though I always wish I had that hose bib in our garage to clean out that winter gunk. I know my neighbor washed his car a lot in his garage. Perhaps he had some sort of special water supply installed in his garage when they built. Either way seems to me it was pretty handy and I wish I had it. I think I've seen another blogger post they have a washtub in their garage and perhaps thats what my neighbor had as well (although I never saw a washtub in their garage...maybe they removed it and kept the water source...I don't know) so perhaps they had hot and cold water available in their garage and just hooked up some sort of special hose or something......anyways just a thought and something I wish I had thought of before.Jennel and Andrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12269771950068134958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6471190583478818324.post-14185258867859926232014-01-24T04:36:55.773-08:002014-01-24T04:36:55.773-08:00We didn't get to select the locations for our ...We didn't get to select the locations for our hose bibs (otherwise I probably would have picked right outside the garage) but the "default" location for our second one is inside the garage.

As for being able to clean it out during the winter, however, we were advised multiple times from our PM that we should turn off the hose connection even though it is located on the wall of the garage directly against the house.Brandonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16653489208963491450noreply@blogger.com
